Setting sail in 2004 to replace the original Queen Mary, the flagship of the Cunard fleet is truly a sight to behold. Queen Mary 2 – What to do

With Cunard cruise line, you are of course free to spend your time as you please. Alternatively, relax with a stroll through Queen Mary 2’s fine arts gallery and the Images photo gallery, or try something new with the Cunard Connexions activity programme, offering events such as art classes and dancing lessons. Athletic types can indulge in a swim, a few sets of tennis or a step into virtual reality with Queen Mary 2’s 51-course golf simulator.

Spend your evenings in style with Queen Mary 2’s selection of bars and after dinner entertainment. Take in the fresh sea air with a glass of champagne at the Terrace Bar, or retreat indoors to warm up with Churchill’s selection of whisky, rum, calvados and cognac. The Golden Lion offers guests the traditional English pub experience in the middle of the ocean, while the Commodore Club offers arguably the best view Queen Mary 2 has to offer, with guests able to take in the horizon over the bow of the ship. If all that does not get you ready for bed, then head on over to the two-level G32 nightclub.

Queen Mary 2 – Where to eat

Grill guests are of course free to take their seat in Queen Mary 2’s Queens Grill and Princess Grill Experience, while the ship’s quintessential dining experience is found at the Britannia Experience, where Cunard’s experienced chefs prepare their own original take on delicious well-known dishes.

Choice is the key at Kings Court, where fabulous breakfasts and lunches give way to four themed dining areas. Lotus offers the best in Asian cuisine, the Carvery showcases perfectly prepared roast meats, La Piazza gives guests their favourite Italian dishes and, most intriguingly of all, the Chef’s Galley affords visitors the opportunity to witness the skilled techniques required to create Kings Courts fantastic menu. Elsewhere, celebrated US chef Todd English has prepared a sumptuous menu for his on board restaurant, with his creative specialities the perfect complement to the wonderful poolside settings.
