Specialising in Mediterranean cruises, the 965 foot Norwegian Jade has been representing the Norwegian Cruise Line in some of the region’s premier cities since 2006. The 93,000 tonne ship contains much to occupy her guests, from restaurants and bars to sports facilities and quiet corners perfect for a relaxing hour or so.
Norwegian Jade – What to do
Guests can start the day with a delicious pastry and a cup of coffee in Norwegian Jade’s Atrium Bar, before venturing out to sample such delights as the Jade Club Casino, Galleria Boutiques, the ship’s swimming pool and hot tubs and the intriguing Art Gallery, packed full of original works by known artists. Visitors can also relax at the Ying and Yang Health Spa and Beauty Salon, as well as getting a little exercise in the fitness centre or on the basketball court.
For those looking to relax with a drink, there are many options to choose from. Usually, the clue is in the name with regard to the products offered by each establishment, such as Tankards Beer and Whiskey Bar, Magnum’s Champagne and Wine Bar and Mixers Martini and Cocktail Bar. The Sake Bar offers something different from the norm. Cocktails can be had at the American Speakeasy-themed Starbar and the Bali Hai Bar and Grill, while they can be combined with a session on the dance floor at the Spinnaker Lounge and Medusa Lounge and Nightclub.
Norwegian Jade – Where to eat
Award winning food is always on the menu at Norwegian Jade’s two main dining halls, Alizar and Grand Pacific. For those wanting something a little lighter, the Great Outdoors buffet is the ideal choice, its extensive selection of well-known, perfectly prepared dishes is sure to satisfy. Guests can sample rustic Italian home cooking from Papa’s Italian Kitchen and authentic French food at Le Bistro.
Jasmine Garden Asian Restaurant showcases the best of Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisine, complete with a Sushi Bar and Teppanyaki section, where your food will be prepared by NCL’s award-winning chefs right in front of you. Cagney’s Steakhouse provides succulent, freshly grilled steaks cooked to your liking, or alternatively you can choose from the selection available at Paniolo Tapas and Salsa Restaurant.
Staterooms of Norwegian Jade
At 5,000 square feet, the one thing Norwegian Jade’s three bedroom Garden Villas definitely have is space. Not an inch of it is wasted either, guests can enjoy their own personal terrace with a hot tub and private garden dining area. Inside, there are separate living and dining areas, while each bedroom comes with a luxury bath.
Comparable levels of luxury can be found in the Owner’s Suites, Family Suites and Penthouses, while Norwegian Cruise Line’s Romance Suites are the perfect couple’s retreat. Balcony Staterooms, Oceanview Staterooms and Inside Staterooms are a viable solution for those travelling on a budget, with the beds and facilities still of a very high standard.
