Since setting sail in 2002, the 857 foot Oceana has provided high quality, unforgettable P&O cruises for her 2,272 passengers to the sun-kissed beaches and fascinating local cultures of the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands.
Oceana – What to do
Oceana offers a large selection of bars for guests to enjoy a refreshing drink, as well as the staggering views out over the ocean, each with their own unique character. For indulgent handmade chocolates and an extensive list of speciality coffees and liqueurs, the beautifully decorated Tiffany’s is a real treat. Situated in the opulent Atrium area, Explorer’s Bar serves everything from coffee to cocktails as you relax and watch the hub of ship activity below.
For some fresh air, sample one of the cocktails available from the Terrace Bar, or combine you drink with a swim in the pool at the Riviera Bar. The best view to be had on Oceana is found at Deck 15’s spectacular Pennant Bar. Elsewhere, Magnums offers a fantastic selection of champagne and cocktails, making it the perfect venue to spend a whole evening, Winners caters for those who want to keep up with the world of sport while they are away, with live sport screened daily, while the nautical-themed Yacht and Compass boasts a bandstand and dance floor in the evenings.
Oceana also houses a great deal of daytime and evening entertainment for her guests to enjoy, with P&O’s superb Oasis Spa available for a well-earned pampering session, as well as an ocean view gymnasium, casino, theatre, nightclub, cabaret lounge and sports court.
Oceana – Where to eat
There are two main restaurants on board Oceana, designed to offer the traditional set dining experience that has been a mainstay of cruise holidays for many years. They are the Adriatic and the Ligurian, where guests can take advantage of their own reserved table each night.
Set dining is of course not compulsory for P&O customers, with many free dining options available. The best of these is arguably Café Jardin, a lovely French bistro created under the guidance of celebrity chef Marco Pierre White. Up on the Sun Deck, Plaza is Oceana’s buffet restaurant, offering great convenience as well as delicious array of perfectly prepared dishes, while the Horizon Grill enjoys superb views.
The Staterooms of Oceana
P&O cruise line goes to great lengths to ensure all of its customers enjoy high levels of comfort, with king-size beds in all rooms and enough space to make each guest feel at home. Inside Stateroom passengers will find that even Oceana’s most basic standard of accommodation surpasses the space and comfort of many hotel rooms, while Outside Staterooms provide a picturesque window view.
Balcony Staterooms provide further luxury, with guests able to enjoy their own private terrace area. Mini-Suites offer some of the largest accommodations on board, with an expansive separate living area making Oceana feel even more like home. They can also look forward to champagne and chocolates on arrival, as well as luxurious whirlpool bath. Suite guests can call upon their own butler to assist them and ensure every aspect of their P&O cruise runs smoothly.
