Description
One of the bigger ships in the P&O fleet, Ventura weighs in at 115,000 tonnes and spans nearly 1,000 feet in length. With facilities for families provided for the 3,600 guests and a track record of quality cruises stretching back to 2008, Ventura is certain to take you on a truly unforgettable voyage.
Ventura – What to do
During the day, Ventura possesses plenty of ways to relax and enjoy the sunshine and fresh sea air. Arguably the most entertaining and unique attraction is Cirque Ventura, an on board circus school teaching the basics of well known circus acts to passengers. Ventura is also home to the main Laguna Pool and the more intimate Terrace Pool, as well as a gymnasium, hair and beauty salon, spa and thermal suite, all geared towards your physical wellbeing.
For guests searching for a relaxing spot to sit and have a drink, Ventura has plenty of options available. The health conscious can choose a delicious fruit smoothie from the menu at Breakers Bar, while a selection of teas and coffees are on offer at the Tazzine café. Visitors after an alcoholic beverage will find them in the wonderful observation deck and jazz bar Metropolis, the perfect setting to sit and watch the sun go down. The Red Bar has created a menu of inventive, tasty cocktails, while a great choice of beers and ciders are on tap at traditional British pub The Exchange. The Terrace Bar is the best option if the weather is fine, with refreshing cold drinks served out in the sun.
P&O’s specially trained staff are always available to look after children and make sure they are kept entertained, with areas such as Decibels, The Den, Jumping Jacks, Toybox and Tumblers all at your service, each caring for a different age group and offering entertainment aimed at toddlers, young children and teenagers.
Ventura – Where to eat
If you are planning a family meal, then your best bet is to take a seat in The Beachouse, a buffet restaurant with enough choice to satisfy even the fussiest of young diners. The Waterside eatery takes care of all the day’s meals, with breakfast, lunch and light afternoon snacks all served in a relaxed, informal setting. For something a little more exotic, Ramblas tapas and wine bar has a great selection of Spanish delicacies, while East fuses Asian cuisine with specialities of the Pacific region to create something truly memorable. The jewel in Ventura’s culinary crown, however, is found at The White Room, showcasing fine dining at its best, with a menu created by celebrity chef Marco Pierre White.
The Staterooms of Ventura
P&O cruise line are very proud of the quality of their accommodation, and aim to ensure that each and every room on board Ventura lives up to the standards of quality and comfort they demand. Guests staying in an Inside Stateroom can look forward to spacious sleeping quarters containing a king-size bed, television and refrigerator, as well as luxurious en suite bathroom facilities with separate shower and bath. Outside Stateroom customers can also enjoy a picture window view of the surrounding ocean, while passengers opting for a Balcony Stateroom can enjoy their own personal terrace.
The Ventura Suites offer the grandest accommodation on board, with a large living space in addition to the bedroom and bathroom, here fitted with a lovely whirlpool bath. Guests can sit back and relax on their balcony, while the ship’s butler service looks after their every need to ensure their P&O cruise creates happy memories.

“Ventura Launch”
Mr David Rowlinson visited on 10/08 and recommended this ship.

We were on the first Cruise ex Southampton back in 2008. A few teething problems which were soon sorted out. This was expected as the ship was brand new.
Would cruise on her again.
