Description
One of the largest ships in the P&O fleet, Azura offers a family friendly atmosphere and some of the most interesting and expert cuisine you will find at sea. With an exciting range of activities and accommodation featuring Family Suites and P&O’s first ever Single Staterooms, whatever your destination Azura is sure to leave a lasting impression.
Azura – What to do
Guests staying in Azura’s luxury Spa Suites will have access to the full range of health and beauty treatments the ship holds. The Oasis Spa is a P&O favourite, but what elevates Azura to the next level is the innovative Thermal Suite, as well as the open air spa found on deck at The Retreat. Azura’s gymnasium is also accessible and contains all the latest fitness equipment.
If you are looking for the pool, then you are in luck as Azura boasts three, catering for adults and families alike. The Terrace pool is particularly eye-catching at night, while one of Azura’s greatest attractions is found at Seascreen, where a giant screen beams the latest cinematic releases whilst you and your family watch from the pool. Should you get peckish, there is no need to travel far, the Poolside Grill and Pizzeria have lunch well covered, and pizzas are even made directly in front of you.
In the evening, entertainment is provided by the Playhouse Theatre and the cabaret shows at Manhattan. If you would prefer to simply relax with a drink, then the Blue Bar serves excellent cocktails, while the Planet Bar features an entertaining screening of the highlights of all the destinations on your journey. Elsewhere, Brodie’s is modelled on an authentic London pub and features pool, darts and live sport, as well as a great beer selection. If you are worried about what to do with the kids, you need not worry, as Azura have it covered with The Sea Bed, the ship’s on board nursery.
Azura – Where to eat
Michelin starred chef Atul Kochhar has created a superb menu of British and Indian cooking at his Sindhu restaurant, rendering it a must visit before you leave. The ship’s three main dining rooms, Meridian, Oriental and Peninsular all have their own unique atmosphere, and the latter is open as a self service food court in the day.
Celebrated sommelier Olly Smith has also created something wonderful at his Glass House restaurant, with each wine carefully selected to match your course, as well as give a flavour of the next destination on your journey. Fans of Italian cuisine will doubtless enjoy Verona, a traditional trattoria serving all your favourites. For the best view in the house, head to Seventeen, so called as it resides on the seventeenth deck, offering stunning views along with British classics and new inventions prepared with all British ingredients.
The Staterooms of Azura
For the first time on a P&O cruise, individual travellers are catered for in the Single Staterooms, situated near to the main entertainment venues to ensure you are at the hub of ship activity. Inside and Outside Staterooms offer comfort and style at an affordable price, while Balcony Staterooms give you access to your own private terrace. All rooms have modern bathroom facilities, with separate bath and shower, except Single Staterooms which feature only a shower.
Superior Deluxe Balcony Staterooms offer extras such as weekly canapés and a separate lounge area that is perfect for taking your morning coffee, while the Suite accommodation elevates the experience to something extra special, with perks such as butler service and champagne, chocolates and flowers on arrival.
