Antarctica, a paradise place to be in any time of the year, especially in December as that is when the Antarctic Summer starts and runs through till around March. The skies in the Antarctic are bright and beautiful and the temperature is no colder than a sunny winter’s day. One of the best places to be in Antarctica is at the pristine Paradise Bay, located on the West side; full of fascinating icebergs, glamorous views of the snow-capped mountains and little penguins scampering about sliding round circling your feet. It’s not just the penguin wildlife, you could have a chance of seeing Leopard or Weddle seals on the shore relaxing and they are truly beautiful to see in person.
You could take a helicopter tour over parts of Antarctica to get an aerial view of what it looks like from above with its magnificent landscape and the interesting wildlife of penguins where you could witness the Emperor penguin colonies or maybe fly beside the Albatross seabird.
Why not climb up the Observation Hill also known as the ‘Ob Hill’, where you can climb right to the top and take in the beautiful view of the Ross Ice Shelf, the largest ice shelf in Antarctica. Or take in the view of Mount Erebus, the second highest volcano in Antarctica. Maybe take a tour to Deception Island, in the South Shetland island Archipelago, where you are able to strip down and swim around in the Antarctic waters during spring, or you could dig up volcanic soil and relax in a steaming hot pool of water right on Antarctica’s mainland. It’s all there waiting for you to tour and experience.
