Kavala is a city in northern Greece with about 74 000 inhabitants. It is a commercial port city and has been the twin city of Nuremberg since 1998. Sights worth seeing in Kavala are the two-storied aqueduct (ancient water pipe) from the the time of the Romans and the citadel of the 16th Century.

Çeşme is a coastal town in Turkey's western-most end, on a promontory on the tip of the peninsula. It is a popular holiday resort. The name "Çeşme" means "fountain" and possibly draws reference from the many Ottoman fountains scattered across the city.
