The Freedom-class has some of the best programs for kids and families, and Independence of the Seas is no exception. Children aged 3-17 enjoy dedicated facilities for their individual age groups as well as age-appropriate activities. With the H20 Zone kids’ water park, arcade, onboard ice skating rink, and kid-friendly workshops and activities, your kids will have a great time on Independence of the Seas. Babysitting is available in your stateroom for a fee. For older kids, there’s a teen dance club with juice bar. The ship’s family cabins are perfect for accommodating parents with young children.

Just because this cruise is family friendly doesn’t mean adults won’t have a great time, too. Casino Royale boasts 300 slot machines and a variety of table games. An adults-only swimming pool in the Solarium is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The ship’s Royal Promenade is fun for the whole family with shops, restaurants, and street-fair-style parades.

Try the Flowrider surf simulator or boxing lessons in the full-size boxing ring. Test your rock-climbing skills 200 feet above the sea on the rock-climbing wall. The three-deck formal dining room aboard this fantastic Royal Caribbean ship serves gourmet food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Specialty dining experiences include the family-friendly 50s-diner-style burger joint Johnny Rockets with outdoor seating, delicious Italian food in Portofino’s, steakhouse style dining at Chops Grille, and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream for an additional fee. Buffet-style food service is available during meal times at the Windjammer Café. Snacks are available 24 hours a day in Café Promenade or delivered directly to your room.
