AmaDante is an AmaWaterways river ship launched in 2008 and built to navigate the Seine. Her 71 cabins accommodate up to 140 guests, served by a crew of 45 — a ratio that keeps the atmosphere genuinely personal. At 109.7 metres she fits the river’s locks and bridges without compromise, reaching places a larger vessel cannot. She sails exclusively on the Seine, connecting Paris with the Normandy coast.
All current sailings depart from Le Havre (Paris) or central Paris, and run to nine nights. Because every sailing requires flying to France, Cruise1st can arrange the cruise, flights, hotels and transfers together as one joined-up holiday.
AmaDante offers two distinct dining spaces, both included in your cruise fare and open to all guests.
The Main Restaurant operates with open seating times, so you sit when you are ready rather than at an assigned hour. The menu draws on regional cuisine, and the river-view setting means changing scenery accompanies every meal. For something more theatrical, The Chef’s Table stages a multi-course tasting menu prepared by a dedicated chef in an intimate setting — culinary theatre with personalised attention, and no extra charge. Complimentary speciality coffees and teas are available around the clock from the Specialty Coffee & Tea Station.
The Main Lounge is where the ship gathers in the evenings — cocktails at the bar, talks from the on-board team about the next port of call, and live entertainment after dinner. Drinks carry a separate charge unless you hold a beverage package, but the lounge itself is open to everyone.
Up on the Sun Deck, the open upper deck gives unobstructed views of the river — it doubles as an occasional al fresco dining spot and a walking and jogging track for guests who want to stay active. The Heated Sun-Deck Pool has an integrated swim-up bar, so you can enjoy a drink without climbing out of the water.
The Fitness Centre carries modern cardio and strength equipment at no charge; specialist fitness classes carry a separate fee. The Massage & Hair Salon offers treatments and hairdressing — the space is free to enter, though services are charged. For quieter moments, the Library keeps books and games available throughout the voyage.
One amenity that genuinely distinguishes a river ship: the Complimentary Bicycle Fleet. Guests borrow bikes from the ship’s own collection at no cost and explore each port independently — no organised excursion needed if you would rather set your own pace along Normandy’s cycling paths.
AmaDante’s full cabin grades and deck plans cover three principal categories, each sleeping two guests.
Every sailing currently on sale follows the Seine, the river that connects Paris with the Normandy coastline. Itineraries depart from Paris or from Le Havre (Paris) — the Normandy port that serves as the river’s gateway to the sea. The Seine corridor takes in some of France’s most celebrated landscapes: the painted villages of the Impressionists, the D-Day beaches and the medieval city of Rouen, all accessible from the ship’s moorings.
Because all sailings involve flying to France, the cruise works best as the centrepiece of a longer French trip. Cruise1st can put the flights, hotel nights in Paris before or after, and airport transfers onto the same booking — details are on our Cruise1st Packages page.
As one of the UK’s leading cruise specialists, Cruise1st has specialist knowledge of AmaWaterways — not just the ships, but how the line’s fare inclusions, cabin grades and itinerary options work together. Before you book, real cruise experts are available by phone to talk through which cabin suits your trip and whether adding a beverage package changes the sums. The full AmaWaterways programme is available through us, so if AmaDante’s Seine schedule doesn’t align with your dates, our team can look at the wider fleet rather than sending you elsewhere.
Whatever combination of cabin grade and fare inclusions you choose, we put the whole holiday — cruise, flights, hotels and transfers — on one booking.
If you are weighing up options within the AmaWaterways fleet, the following ships are also available through Cruise1st: AmaMagna, Zambezi Queen, AmaVerde, AmaVenita, AmaDahlia and AmaLea.
The Main Restaurant, The Chef’s Table, the Specialty Coffee & Tea Station, Sun Deck access, the heated pool, fitness centre, walking track, library, and the complimentary bicycle fleet are all included. Alcoholic drinks in the Main Lounge are generally charged separately unless you hold a beverage package, and spa treatments carry a separate fee.
Yes — all sailings currently on sale depart from France. Cruise1st can book your flights, any hotel nights in Paris and transfers alongside the cruise itself, so the whole trip sits on one booking rather than across several.
AmaDante accommodates up to 140 guests across 71 cabins, with 45 crew on board. That ratio gives the ship a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere where staff know guests by name within a day or two of sailing.
If budget is the priority, the Outside Cabin D at 15.8 m² delivers natural light and river views from a fixed window. Step up to a Balcony Stateroom A+ at 20.9 m² if you want a private outdoor space for watching the Seine scenery. The Suite S at 23.7 m² is the ship’s most spacious accommodation and suits guests who want the extra room to spread out on a longer sailing. Our cruise experts can talk through the options before you commit.
Current sailings on sale run to a maximum of nine nights, departing from Paris or Le Havre. Prices start from £2,226pp*.
