ENTERTAINMENT

Virgin Voyages have given Broadway the heave-ho and replaced traditional musicals with raunchy, raucous and immersive performances. Late night cabaret, Shakespeare with a circus twist and a play that mingles dinner, romance and acrobatics. Expressive, often hilarious and not for the faint of heart, the performances across the ship push the boundaries - in all the right ways. THINGS TO DO

Forget aqua aerobics. On Virgin Voyages, you’re more likely to nip to the tattoo parlour before a heated game of air hockey. From the high tech and retro thrills of the gaming arcade to the more laidback board games in the Social Club, activities on board are different to the cruising norm. Is Virgin Voyages a luxury cruise line?

• ​Yes, Virgin Voyages are a luxury cruise line - with a twist. Virgin Voyages describe the onboard experience as casual sophistication - or rebellious luxe. You might not find the traditional elements you’d expect on a luxury cruise, but there are high-end touches in everything from the decor to the 20 restaurants on board.

What is the dress code on Virgin Voyages ships?

• There’s no dress code on Virgin Voyages ships. Which means there’s absolutely no restriction on what you can wear across any of the venues - day or night. During your cruise, there may be a ‘Scarlet Night’. On these nights guests - or sailors, are asked to wear red, but it’s not compulsory.

What drinks are included on Virgin Voyages ships?

• ​Soft drinks are included on Virgin Voyages ships. This includes soda, still and sparkling water, tea, drip coffee and juices. Virgin Voyages do not offer drinks packages. Pricing is comparable with boutique hotel prices and, to limit your drinks budget, you can create a pre-paid tab before you sail.

Does Virgin Voyages have themed nights?

• Yes, Virgin Voyages do have themed nights. Their signature theme night is Scarlet Night. All passengers are encouraged to wear red for a night of music, art and pop-up performances. Theme nights also include pyjama parties, retro nights and secret after parties.
