Celebrity Roamer is a river cruise ship operated by Celebrity Cruises, sailing itineraries along the Rhine. Current sailings run for up to seven nights, departing from either Basel, Switzerland or Amsterdam. Every sailing on sale through Cruise1st departs after September 2026, making her a strong choice for an autumn Rhine voyage.
Celebrity Roamer offers three cabin grades, each designed around the particular pleasures of river cruising — natural light, river views and open-air access. Full deck plans and a detailed breakdown of every grade are on the Celebrity Roamer cabins and deck plans page.
The Vista Balcony Suite SA offers 24 m² of space for two guests and comes with its own private balcony — the standout feature on a river cruise, where watching the landscape pass from an outdoor seat of your own is the point. Panoramic river views mean you miss nothing as the Rhine unfolds outside.
At 14.6 m² for two guests, the River-View Cabin RA keeps the Rhine in sight through an unobstructed window, bringing natural daylight into the room throughout the day. A comfortable and practical choice for those who want a genuine connection to the river without stepping up to a suite.
The Balcony Cabin BA sits on deck 3, the upper deck position that delivers better sightlines and shorter routes to the upper deck areas. At 15.9 m² it sleeps up to four guests, making it the most flexible grade for small groups or families travelling together.
All sailings currently on sale follow the Rhine, one of Europe's great river corridors, between Basel in Switzerland and Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Four departures begin in Basel and three in Amsterdam. The Rhine passage takes in some of central Europe's most recognisable scenery — vine-covered hillsides, medieval towns and wide floodplains — in a format where the ship itself docks in the heart of each port.
Because both embarkation cities require a flight from the UK, the cruise naturally becomes the centrepiece of a wider European trip. Cruise1st can arrange flights to your boarding port and accommodation before or after the sailing, so nothing is left to organise separately. Browse all Celebrity Cruises 2026 sailings or look ahead to Celebrity Cruises 2027 for future options across the fleet.
Cruise1st is one of the UK's leading cruise specialists, which means our knowledge of Celebrity Cruises goes well beyond what a general travel agent can offer. When you call before you book, you speak to real cruise experts who can talk through the differences between cabin grades, help you decide whether the Vista Balcony Suite or one of the river-view options suits you better, and explain exactly what is included in the fare.
Because every Celebrity Roamer sailing currently on sale departs from Switzerland or the Netherlands, getting there is part of the planning. Our Cruise1st Packages service puts the flights, any hotels either side and transfers together with the cruise on a single booking — one price, one point of contact, one less thing to worry about.
If timing or budget are still open, it is worth checking our Celebrity Cruise Deals page and our last-minute Celebrity Cruises listings, where availability and pricing shift regularly.
Current sailings depart from either Basel in Switzerland or Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Both ports require flying from the UK, so Cruise1st recommends booking flights and any pre- or post-cruise accommodation at the same time as the cruise itself.
The sailings currently on sale run for up to seven nights along the Rhine. All depart from September 2026 onwards.
That depends on how much time you plan to spend in your cabin and how important outdoor access is to you. The Vista Balcony Suite SA is the only grade with a private balcony — ideal if you want to sit outside and watch the river. The River-View Cabin RA gives you the Rhine view through a large window at a smaller footprint. The Balcony Cabin BA on deck 3 is the pick for up to four guests travelling together, and its upper-deck position means better views and easy access to the top of the ship. Our cruise experts can walk through the options with you before you book.
You can book the cruise on its own if you prefer to arrange your own flights and accommodation. However, because Basel and Amsterdam both require travel from the UK, many guests find it simpler to use a Cruise1st Package, which combines the cruise, flights, hotels and transfers into one booking.
Celebrity Cruises operates a broader fleet, and Cruise1st sells sailings across it. You can explore the full range on the Celebrity Cruises page, or search Celebrity 2026 sailings and Celebrity 2027 sailings to see what else is available for your travel window.
