Powered through the waters by liquefied natural gas - a first for Royal Caribbean, all 250,000gt of the Icon of the Seas is looking to green up its energy use. Royal's Icon of the Seas' environmental advances alone won’t be grabbing the headlines. It’s the innovations in the cabins, waterparks, entertainment and atrium that are set to stun. From triple storey ‘over the top’ family accommodation to the first family raft slides, first open water slides and first swim up bars at sea, Icon of the Seas may well bring plenty of firsts - but there are enough Royal Caribbean staples to welcome back seasoned cruisers too.
DINING
Whether you want fast and casual or elegant and sophisticated, Icon of the Seas' dining options will satisfy your cuisine craving. Designed to inspire awe in cruisers, is the mesmerising Aquadome restaurant where you’ll be able to watch magical dive displays while you eat. There is also a refreshing alfreso dining area in the ship’s green and lush ‘Central Park’. And reserved for Suite guests, members can dine in two exclusive venues: The Grove and the Coastal Kitchen restaurant.
ENTERTAINMENT AND THINGS TO DO
Expect everything to be bigger and better on Icon of the Seas. Royal Caribbean has built its biggest ice arena, sure to dazzle guests with jaw dropping performances coutesy of her talented ice skating entertainers. The Aquadome dive pool holds daring dive displays and the rhythmic beats of The Hideaway beach club is sure to bring Balearic vibes to Caribbean shores. Step onto Crown’s Edge to teeter on the edge of Icon of the Seas with the ship’s skywalk and obstacle course that will put your bravery to the test. For even more adrenaline rushes, Icon’s waterpark brings the first open-fall slide and first family raft slide to the seas.
CABIN TYPES
With over 28 different cabin types on board to choose from, Icon of the Seas has accommodation options to suit everyone. This ship introduces brand new cabin types, including the conveniently located Surfside Family View Cabins - right next to the Surfside water park and Family Infinite Oceanview Balconies with room for six guests. The new Infinite Family Townhouse is the largest suite at sea and comes with features over three storeys that include a karaoke area, slide, two balconies and your own private entrance to Surfside.
