Sirena at a Glance

Sirena is an Oceania Cruises ship launched in 1999, carrying 384 guests across five decks at 30,277 gross tonnes — a scale that keeps the atmosphere genuinely intimate. Here is what defines her:

  • Known for: exceptional culinary variety, hands-on enrichment and an unhurried, club-like atmosphere

Sirena sails the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Transatlantic routes, South America, East Coast USA, Africa and Brazil. Key departure ports include Miami, Rome (Civitavecchia), Barcelona, Venice, Istanbul, Lisbon, New York and Montreal.

Dining on Sirena

Sirena carries eight dining venues, spanning everything from a grand flagship restaurant to a poolside grill — a breadth of choice that sits at the heart of what Oceania Cruises does.

The Grand Dining Room is Sirena’s signature restaurant, open to all guests and included in the cruise fare. Daily-changing menus offer at least ten starters and ten main courses each evening, blending continental classics with global flavours and the Executive Chef’s own tasting menu, with vitality options always available.

Four speciality restaurants add further depth. Polo Grill brings classic steakhouse elegance — premium aged USDA Angus beef and seafood including Maine lobster and grilled swordfish, served by a team in black jackets. Toscana recreates an authentically Italian atmosphere with Chianti leather, hand-blown Venetian glass and Carrara marble, serving dishes on exclusive Versace porcelain. Jacques offers classical French cuisine reimagined by Master Chef Pépin — Coq au Vin, Confit de Canard, and an extensive cheese and wine list. Red Ginger takes a Pan-Asian approach, blending Thai, Korean, Japanese and Malaysian flavours with a drinks list featuring premium sake and exotic cocktails. A cover charge and à la carte pricing apply at these four restaurants.

For something more relaxed, Terrace Café is an airy indoor-outdoor venue with sea views, serving everything from fresh pastries at breakfast through to grilled lobster, rotisserie meats and sushi in the evening — included in your fare. Aquamar Kitchen takes a mindful approach, with Lebanese bowls, fish tacos, avocado toast and energising smoothies in a bright Mediterranean setting, also included. Poolside, Waves Grill turns out made-to-order burgers, herb-marinated fish and hand-dipped milkshakes throughout the afternoon, likewise included.

For the most exclusive experience, Privée hosts wine pairing menus by La Reserve — two multi-course options for a maximum of eight guests per evening, in a dramatically lit private room with a blossom-shaped ceiling installation, chandelier and floor-to-ceiling sea views. A cover charge applies. And for coffee between meals, Baristas serves complimentary Illy coffee and fresh pastries with 270-degree sea views.

Enrichment and Activities on Sirena

Sirena’s enrichment programme is centred on creativity and learning, with several dedicated spaces for guests to develop new skills at sea.

The Culinary Center hosts hands-on cooking classes led by passionate chefs, bringing the regional cuisines of each destination to life — techniques and recipes drawn directly from the ports you visit, included in the fare. Optional chef-led food tours extend the experience ashore. The Artist Loft offers classes in painting, drawing, sculpture and photography, varying by voyage and also included in the fare, so you leave with a personal artwork. LYNC Digital Center runs complimentary photography and video classes for all levels, helping guests better capture their onboard and port experiences.

The Library, enclosed in warm wood panelling with floor-to-ceiling glass walls, is a quiet retreat for reading, research or simply relaxing — the kind of unhurried space that suits Sirena’s character well.

For those who want to stay active, the Fitness Center provides treadmills, strength equipment and a Kinesis® wall for core and flexibility work, plus complimentary group sessions including yoga and Pilates (personal training carries a fee). The Running Track & Sports Deck at the top of the ship offers open-ocean views. The pool deck is designed around calm, organic aesthetics; shaded cabanas and waterside daybeds are available for an additional charge. In the evenings, the Casino — modelled on classic European gaming rooms — offers roulette, blackjack and a cocktail bar, with entry complimentary and wagers charged separately.

Cabins and Suites on Sirena

Sirena’s cabins range from intelligently designed insides to a sweeping owner’s suite — and the full cabins and deck plans detail every grade.

  • Inside cabin F (14 m²): An entry-level cabin with a seating area and vanity desk — a notably comfortable layout for the grade.
  • Deluxe Ocean-view cabin C2 (15 m²): Newly redesigned fitted wardrobes and dressers maximise storage, creating a noticeably more spacious feel.
  • Concierge Level Balcony cabin A1 (20 m²): Includes unlimited access to the Aquamar Spa Terrace — a wellness benefit not available in standard Balcony grades.
  • Owner’s Suite OS (92 m²): The most spacious accommodation on board, with a private balcony and more than three times the footprint of a penthouse suite.

Guests in suite grades gain access to the Suite & Concierge Privileges tier, which includes the Executive Lounge and Concierge Lounge — both keycard-accessed private spaces with dedicated concierge service and complimentary drinks, coffee and snacks throughout the day.

Where Sirena Sails

Sirena covers an ambitious range of destinations, with the Mediterranean at the heart of her schedule and voyages running as long as 68 nights.

The Mediterranean is her most-sailed region, with both Western Mediterranean and Eastern Mediterranean itineraries departing from Barcelona, Rome (Civitavecchia), Venice and Istanbul. Browse current Mediterranean cruise deals or see 7-day Mediterranean cruises for shorter sailings.

In winter, Sirena moves to the Caribbean, sailing from Miami on Western and Eastern Caribbean itineraries. Caribbean cruise deals and Caribbean cruises from Miami are worth checking if the region appeals.

Transatlantic crossings link these two theatres — see all Transatlantic cruises or specifically 2026 sailings. Sirena also reaches South America, with departures from Rio de Janeiro and Punta Arenas, as well as Africa and Brazil.

Why Book Sirena with Cruise1st

As one of the UK’s leading cruise specialists, Cruise1st brings genuine knowledge of Oceania Cruises — not the broad brush of a general travel agent. Our real cruise experts are available on the phone before you book to help you weigh cabin grades, fare inclusions and itinerary options against your circumstances.

Because the vast majority of Sirena’s sailings depart from ports in Italy, the United States, Spain and Turkey, for most UK guests the cruise forms the centrepiece of a longer trip. Through Cruise1st Packages, we can book the flights, the hotel either side and the transfers as one complete holiday — one booking, one point of contact.

Alternatives to Sirena

If you are weighing up your options, a few other ships cover similar ground and are worth considering.

Celebrity Xcel (Celebrity Cruises) sails from the same ports and calls at many of the same countries — Italy, Spain, Greece and the United States among them — and is a straight alternative requiring no flight to reach.

Legend of the Seas (Royal Caribbean) also departs from the same ports, visiting Italy, Spain, France and the United States, and similarly requires no flight from the UK.

Arcadia (P&O Cruises) sails from UK home ports — Southampton among them — meaning no flight is needed at all for that sailing. It shares a high proportion of the same destination countries, including Italy, Spain, Greece and the United States.

Common Questions about Sirena

Which Cabin Grade Is Best for a First Oceania Sailing?

The Concierge Level Balcony cabin A1 is a popular starting point for guests new to Oceania Cruises: at 20 m² it offers a private balcony and, crucially, unlimited access to the Aquamar Spa Terrace — a wellness benefit that standard Balcony cabins do not include. For guests who want maximum space and privacy, the 92 m² Owner’s Suite is the most expansive accommodation on board. Our cabins and deck plans page shows every grade in detail.

What Is Included in the Cruise Fare on Sirena?

The Grand Dining Room, Terrace Café, Aquamar Kitchen and Waves Grill are all included in the fare, as are Baristas coffee, the Culinary Center cooking classes, Artist Loft classes, LYNC Digital Center photography sessions, the Library, Fitness Center group classes and use of the pool deck. Speciality restaurants — Polo Grill, Jacques, Toscana, Red Ginger and Privée — carry cover charges or à la carte pricing. Casino wagers, spa treatments and personal training are also charged separately.

Do Sirena’s Sailings Require a Flight from the UK?

Almost all current sailings depart from ports overseas — principally Miami, Barcelona, Rome (Civitavecchia), Venice and Istanbul — so a flight from the UK is needed for the great majority of itineraries. Through Cruise1st Packages, we can arrange flights, hotels and transfers alongside the cruise as one booking.

How Long Are Sirena’s Voyages?

Current sailings range from shorter Mediterranean breaks up to 68-night grand voyages. The breadth of the schedule means there is a sailing length to suit most holiday allowances, whether you are looking for a focused two-week itinerary or an extended journey through multiple regions.

Is There Another Oceania Ship I Should Consider?

Oceania Vista is another ship in the Oceania Cruises fleet listed on Cruise1st — it may be worth comparing itineraries and availability if you are open to sailing on either ship.
